The Information Age and the Ultimate Opportunity We Face

 | With over 7 billion of us here, the world is nearly unlimited in scope and opportunity. There are many people who still fail to realize this, even though we’ve had two full decades of rapid information production and dispersal. The internet and the platforms built on top of it, readily make just about anything you would want to learn, fully available at all hours of the day.

So, what this creates is an ultimate window to learn anything and everything pertaining to your goal or goals, and to take action. That being said, there are two dilemmas most people face. The first, is not being exposed to enough of the “individual, money making,” side of the internet. The more you learn just how many people have gone from mid income or even low income jobs, to making millions online in just a few years, the more this becomes apparent. This is means, the first problems has to do with internalizing the reality of it. This can of course be solved with a bit of research and investigating. Go down enough YouTube rabbit holes of entrepreneur videos and self-help/business advice on Twitter, and you’ll see more than enough real life examples.

This brings us to dilemma deuce. The second problem, is actually three fold. In the beginning people are often still under control of the many distractions they let govern their lives; streaming shows on TV, consuming social media content all day (short term dopamine trap), video games (another dopamine trap), and a plethora of social gatherings. So, part one is a process of removal. Part two is the learning and implementing stage. People need to learn the time management and health strategies to operate in their best state, that way they can complete work towards their goals, while still fulfilling their duties and obligations. This is paramount, as many people will convince themselves that they don’t have enough time. When in reality, time spent not committed to all the distractions is time gained. It is sacrifice, time management, and health. Committing to healthy habits will help you to break bad habits and also to be focused and energized to work on what you love. There are countless scientific journals which back-up the importance of a healthy lifestyle and reaching your goals. These are largely due to the neurological benefits you get from healthy eating and exercise.

Part three of the second dilemma is perhaps the hardest but most quintessential part. Part three is consistency. You have to consistently work on whatever it is you want to build in order for it to actually take form. That’s where understanding how your brain works in relation to the food you eat and the actions you take, comes into play. You will be tempted by others and by yourself to stray from the better path of structuring your life towards your goals. The best way to avoid temptation is to do the necessary things your brain needs in order to operate at its highest level. This is in reference to its ability to prime it for consistent focused work and better clarity for better in-the-moment decision making.

There is no shortage of opportunities we face, only a shortage of discipline and self-control; which is a problem that can and should be fixed. Consistent learning, action taking, and habit formation, has been seen to break the worst of circumstances and turn the unknown into legends.

I think it’s time to begin your legacy…
